Trout Lake Farm Brand History Located in Washington State’s Cascade Mountains, the tiny Trout Lake valley is a farmer’s dream. Its climate is temperate, its soil is rich and its water—provided by the White Salmon River, fed by glaciers on Mt. Adams—is pure. Trout Lake Farm was born in 1973, when Lon Johnson recognized the valley as the perfect place to cultivate organically grown culinary and medicinal herbs.
At Trout Lake Farm, we also produce Camas Prairie Tea, an essiac tea blend from Rene Caisse’s original formula. Camas Prairie Tea contains sheep sorrel, burdock, rhubarb and slippery elm, all certified organic.
From the beginning, we have been committed to organic and sustainable growing practices. We use absolutely no synthetically derived fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides are used on our crops. Our growing practices are intended to improve soil nutrition and fertility, practice seed preservation, ensure traceability and accountability and support integration and diversity of biological organisms. Organic certification is our hallmark, through which we offer our customers complete assurance that our botanicals are completely free of synthetic herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.
